Maybe I have a bit of coming home blues or, I don’t know but I miss living close to the sea where I can take surf photos at Tanah Lot, which is one of Balis most famous temples.
What I’ve been up to, or down below in the sea, lately. A recap of my last weeks in Bali and what I’ve learned about underwater photography. And, an explanation why I’ve not had the time to blog at all.
I visited The Blanco Museum here in Ubud, Bali and found it to be most inspiring. Like I usually do when looking at paintings since that’s where I learned the most about photography.
A short appreciation post to the most photogenic subject there is, water! And of course, big thanks to all surfers who help me make the photos more interesting.
Yes. I submit photos to be exhibited. That’s because I want to share the moments I’ve experienced with the hope that they can transmit the joy that happened during this surf lesson in Arugam Bay in Sri Lanka.
Finally when I got here, I understood the line “Blue lines are the reason why the temple had to shatter” from the Massive Attack song. Also, a description of how my brain works when I’m in photography-mode, and that water is just a gigantic reflecting mirror sometimes.
Photos I took of people on the beach, and by the temple, in Batu Bolong, Bali, March 2022. And my thoughts of what differentiates a photograph from a snap. And also, some life advice from Philthy Taylor from Motörhead.
