Back where it all started
A summary of how I started photographing surfing now when I’m back where it all began in Bali, Indonesia. Illustrated with surf photos from the other day here in Batu Bolong.
You can’t always get what you want, you get what you need
A summary of what I’ve been up to here my first week in Bali when returning after two years. And of course, some photos, from my iPhone this time.
Seeing things from a different perspective
A reflection about how I work as a photographer and how I enjoy seeing things from a diferent perspective. How my restlessness is both good for my photography but sometimes might not be so good for myself. Illustrated with photos of surfing here in Hiriketiya and Mirissa.
Mirissa in Sri Lanka. Thoughts about what makes a place feel like home when you travel by yourself. Also, a bit about food and a tiny guide to the surf spots in Mirissa. Yes, all illustrated by surf photos I took this morning.
After photographing snow and trees for 18 months
Got into a trishaw and went to another Southern Province Market here in Sri Lanka. Of course I took some photos while also having good food and doing great shopping. Some photos and some reflections and stories about photography, escecially self-doubt when not being able to take the pictures you want.
As long as there’s fish in the sea
Photos from my travels in India and Sri Lanka during these last years of fishermen and their boats and all thats going on around them on the beach. I also try to figure out why I’m so fascinated by fishing boats and an explanation of what The Sri Lankan Highway means in Kerala.
On the road
Photos from my travels here in Sri Lanka where I’ve spent a lot of time on the roads. Traveling in cars, due to trains and buses not running as they should due to the pandemic, enjoying my road trip and taking photos through the wind shield.
Photos I took during a tuktuk safari on the East Coast of Sri Lanka. I’m experimenting with a different photo editing style because think it suits the photos and the weater condition they were taken.
A reflection about how my photography style has evolved as a surf photographer, i focus more on the surrondings. But still my love for the sea is strong and I’m most impressed by the surfers. Photos from when I was photographing surfing at Coxos in Protugal along the Atlantic coastline.
Arugam Bay Surf Club
My photos and experiences from last wednesday here on the east coast of Sri Lanka when I was foturnate enough to capture Arugam Bay Surf Club teaching the children to surf.
